Airport → Bishkek

Upon arrival at Manas International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Bishkek. After check-in, you’ll have time to relax and recover from your flight. If time allows, you can take a short walk around the city to get your first impression of Kyrgyzstan. The day is kept easy to help you adjust.

Bishkek → Burana Tower → Chon-Kemin

After breakfast, we leave Bishkek and drive toward the ancient Burana Tower. Here, you will explore the historical site, walk among the old stone balbals, and enjoy views over the surrounding plains. We continue our journey to Chon-Kemin Valley, passing through picturesque countryside. Upon arrival, we settle into a cozy guesthouse. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a relaxing walk in the valley or optional horse riding. In the evening, a traditional Kyrgyz dinner will be served.

Chon-Kemin → Son-Kul Lake

After breakfast, we begin our drive toward Son-Kul Lake, climbing higher into the mountains through winding roads and scenic passes. Along the way, we stop to visit a local family workshop, where you will experience a traditional felt carpet (shyrdak) making demonstration and learn about this important part of Kyrgyz culture. We then continue our journey, making several stops to enjoy the views and take photos. By afternoon, we arrive at Son-Kul Lake, where nomadic families spend their summers. After settling into a traditional yurt camp, you’ll have time to explore the surroundings. In the evening, enjoy horseback riding along the lake and watch the sunset over the vast alpine landscape. Dinner is served at the yurt camp.

Son-Kul → Naryn

We start the day early to catch the sunrise over Son-Kul Lake — one of the most peaceful and beautiful moments of the trip. After breakfast, we leave the lake and descend through mountain passes toward Naryn. On the way, we enjoy scenic stops and views of wide valleys and rivers. Upon arrival in Naryn, we check into the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax after the journey.

Naryn → Kel-Suu Lake

After an early breakfast, we begin our journey toward the remote Kel-Suu Lake, located near the Chinese border. The road takes us through wild, untouched landscapes and open steppe. Upon arrival at the camp area, we prepare for a short hike to the lake. As Kel-Suu suddenly appears between high cliffs, you’ll have time to explore, take photos, and enjoy the silence of this remote place. Dinner is served at the camp, followed by a peaceful night in yurts.

Kel-Suu Lake → Naryn

After breakfast, you can spend some time in the Kok-Kiya valley, enjoying the morning light and calm atmosphere. Later, we begin our return journey to Naryn. On the way, we stop for rest and enjoy the landscapes once again. Arrival in Naryn in the afternoon, check-in at the hotel, and free time to relax.

Naryn → Ak-Sai Canyon → Bokonbaevo

After breakfast, we drive toward Issyk-Kul Lake. Along the way, we stop at Ak-Sai Canyon, where you can take a short walk and capture photos of the unique rock formations. We continue to Bokonbaevo village, located on the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Here, you will experience a traditional eagle hunting demonstration and learn about this ancient Kyrgyz practice. Dinner and overnight stay in a yurt camp near the lake.

Bokonbaevo → Skazka canyon → Barskoon Waterfalls → Jeti-Oguz → Karakol

After breakfast, we head to Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon, known for its striking red and orange formations shaped over time by wind and erosion. We take a walk through the canyon, enjoying the unique landscapes and stopping for photos. We then continue to Barskoon Valley, a quiet and scenic area surrounded by pine forests. Here, we hike to the waterfalls and take in the fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere. Later, we visit the famous Jeti-Oguz Rocks, also known as the “Seven Bulls.” A short hike leads us to a viewpoint overlooking the dramatic red cliffs and the surrounding valley.

Success in the Tien Shan requires meticulous planning. Kyrgyzstan’s climate is as diverse as its landscape, with temperatures swinging from +40°C in the valleys to -5°C at the passes.

  • If you have heavy items like a camera with a lens or special equipment, you can hire an extra porter for 55 USD per day. One porter can carry up to 15 kg, including their own items.
