Airport → Bishkek City

Arrival at Manas International Airport, where our team will meet you and transfer you to Bishkek city. After some time to rest from the flight, begin exploring the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

Visit Ala-Too Square, Victory Square, Oak Park, and the central streets of the city while learning about Bishkek’s Soviet history and modern life. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Bishkek → Burana Tower → Cholpon-Ata → Karakol

After breakfast, drive toward Burana Tower, an ancient 11th-century minaret located near Tokmok. Explore the historical complex and nearby stone balbals before continuing the journey toward Issyk-Kul Lake.

Drive along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul and stop in Cholpon-Ata to visit the famous open-air petroglyph museum with ancient rock carvings dating back thousands of years. Enjoy beautiful lake views before continuing to Karakol town.

Arrive in Karakol in the evening and enjoy dinner at a local cafe.

Karakol → Altyn-Arashan Valley → Karakol

In the morning, begin an exciting off-road journey toward the famous Altyn-Arashan Valley, one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in Kyrgyzstan.

Surrounded by forests, rivers, and snow-capped peaks, the valley is known for its natural hot springs and untouched nature. Relax in the hot springs and enjoy lunch in the mountains before starting the hike back toward Karakol through scenic alpine landscapes.

Return to Karakol in the evening and enjoy free time at local cafes or restaurants.

Karakol → Jeti-Oguz → Kok-Jaiyk Valley

After breakfast, visit the famous Dungan Mosque and Russian Orthodox Church in Karakol before driving toward Jeti-Oguz Gorge.

Explore the iconic red rock formations known as the Seven Bulls and Broken Heart, then continue deeper into Kok-Jaiyk Valley surrounded by forests and mountain scenery. Hike to the beautiful waterfall hidden in the valley and enjoy lunch in traditional yurts.

Optional horseback riding is available in the afternoon before dinner at the yurt camp.

Kok-Jaiyk → Barskoon Waterfall → Skazka Canyon → Bokonbaevo

Today, continue exploring the southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake. The first stop is Barskoon Valley, where you’ll hike to a scenic waterfall surrounded by pine forests and mountain landscapes.

After lunch with a local family, visit the famous Skazka Canyon, also called Fairytale Canyon. Walk through colorful rock formations and climb to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the lake and canyon.

In the evening, arrive in Bokonbaevo village and experience a traditional eagle hunting demonstration. Optional folklore performance available after dinner.

Bokonbaevo → Ak-Sai Canyon → Son-Kul Lake

After breakfast, drive toward Son-Kul Lake, one of Kyrgyzstan’s most famous alpine lakes located above 3,000 meters.

On the way, stop at Ak-Sai Canyon and hike to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the canyon, mountains, and Issyk-Kul Lake. Continue through mountain passes and remote landscapes before reaching Son-Kul.

Experience authentic nomadic life surrounded by horses, sheep, and wide open jailoo pastures. Optional horseback riding is available around the lake.

Son-Kul Lake → Bishkek

Spend the morning enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of Son-Kul Lake. You can hike around the lake or join an optional horseback riding experience into the surrounding hills.

Later, begin the drive back toward Bishkek through scenic mountain roads and valleys. Stop along the way for traditional Kyrgyz food and beautiful viewpoints.

Arrive in Bishkek in the evening and enjoy a farewell dinner at a local restaurant.

Success in the Tien Shan requires meticulous planning. Kyrgyzstan’s climate is as diverse as its landscape, with temperatures swinging from +40°C in the valleys to -5°C at the passes.

  • If you have heavy items like a camera with a lens or special equipment, you can hire an extra porter for 55 USD per day. One porter can carry up to 15 kg, including their own items.
